Basically if the security is not right, you never get an IP address and so you wwireless you are not there just yet. Ok so i have this laptop and figured i can install Ubuntu as my OS since it did not have any OSi kept getting issues while booting it would freeze.

Back to Linux forum 4 total posts. I verified iwreless it is working fine with Windows XP a different laptop with me. What doesn’t however is hibernation. The screen goes black, but the fan etc. CNET’s Forum on Linux is the best source for finding help or getting troubleshooting advice from a community of experts. Thay ALL had the locked out wireless with the “install within Windows” method, so it wasn’t an anomaly of my particular machine.

Here is the link: There are potential issues with some of the Dell Latitude E wireless controllers if you’re using an older distro. I would assume YAST would set it up to activate at least on boot time.
